Abstract :

On the basis of isolation and morphological studies, the pathogen was identified as Alternaria alternata (Fr) Keissler. Pathogenicity test also confirmed with the pathogen by producing the symptoms which are similar to natural symptoms. Cultural studies of the fungi revealed that, the mycelia growth of A. alternata was maximum in Richard’s agar ( 90.00 mm) followed by oat meal agar (89.00 mm), Asthana and Hawker’s medium (85.33 mm) and Potato dextrose agar (85.00 mm). Physiological studies of the pathogen revealed that, the maximum mycelia growth and sporulation of A. alternata was at a temperature range from 250 C to 300 Candin PDA respectively.
